Richard Young, No. 1-rated RB in 2023, includes 3 SEC teams in top 10

Junior running back Richard Young has been receiving plenty of attention from some of the top teams in the country. On Sunday, the Lehigh Acres, Fla. product released his top 10, and 3 SEC teams made the cut. Florida is on the list, while Alabama and Georgia are also among the teams. Two other in-state schools in Florida State and Miami, along with Clemson, Oklahoma, Oregon, Ohio State, and Southern Cal, make up the non-SEC programs within his finalists.

According to 247Sports, Young is a 5-star prospect, ranked as the top running back in the class of 2023 and No. 17 in the country regardless of position. He is considered the No. 5 players in the state of Florida.

As a sophomore, he amassed 980 yards and 8 touchdowns on 100 carries, while recording a pair of 200-yard games for a Lehigh Senior High program that went 5-5 in 2020. In 2019, his freshman season, he recorded 111 attempts, 854 yards, and 6 touchdowns.
