Scott Van Pelt reveals his pick against the spread for Kentucky-South Carolina
Scott Van Pelt has revealed his pick for the Kentucky-South Carolina game in Week 12.
The veteran ESPN analyst makes weekly picks against the spread on his “Winners” segment. The Kentucky-South Carolina game made the cut for this week’s segment.
Van Pelt likes the Gamecocks to cover as 1.5-point underdogs.
“South Carolina has two games left and needs to win both to go bowling. I think they get first one at Billy B Saturday night against Kentucky in the dreaded “game after Alabama” spot,” Van Pelt said.
SVP is 2-8 all-time when picking South Carolina, per ESPN.
The Gamecocks are coming off a big win against the Vanderbilt Commodores in Week 11. The team needs to win both remaining games to be bowl-eligible. After the Wildcats, the Gamecocks will end the season against the in-state rival Clemson Tigers.
The Wildcats suffered a big loss at home against the Crimson Tide in Week 11. A win would improve the team to 7-4 with just Louisville left to play.
The 2 SEC East foes will kick off from Columbia at 7:30 p.m. Eastern on Saturday.
