Most games across the SEC this season have had limited fans in attendance, and things won’t be any different at the 2020 SEC Championship Game, which is scheduled to take place Dec. 19 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

There will be 16,500 fans allowed to attend this year’s SEC title game due to COVID-19 restrictions, which the league detailed in a release on Tuesday. Face coverings will be required inside the stadium, fans must maintain physical distance (at least six feet) from others and hands must be washed frequently for 20 seconds with either soap and water or hand sanitizer.

The release also asks fans to stay home if they’re experiencing any of the following symptoms: fever (100.4 or greater), cough, chills, muscle pain, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, sore throat or new loss of taste or smell.

The 2020 SEC Championship Game is sold out, but limited tickets can still be purchased at the SEC Ticket Exchange.

This year’s SEC Championship Game will be a matchup between Alabama and Florida. The Crimson Tide are 9-0 and have already clinched the SEC West, while the Gators are 8-1 and have secured first place in the SEC East.

It’s the first time that Alabama and Florida are facing off in the SEC Championship Game since the Crimson Tide beat the Gators in back-to-back years in 2015 and 2016. Alabama’s last SEC title victory came in 2018, while Florida hasn’t won the conference championship since 2008, when it beat the Tide.

The SEC Championship Game will kick off at 8 p.m. ET on Dec. 19 on CBS.
