Texas, Oklahoma reportedly interested in joining the SEC

Could the SEC be getting bigger?

We are a long way from that happening but an interesting report from Texas suggests the possibility exists as two of the biggest programs in college football could soon be jumping to the nation’s best conference.

According to longtime Houston Chronicle reporter Brent Zwerneman, both Texas and Oklahoma have reached out to the SEC to inquiry about joining the league.

Zwerneman went a step further and included that a source indicates an “announcement could come within a couple of weeks concerning the potential addition of UT and OU to the league,” which would make the SEC the first 16-team conference in college football.

SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey declined to comment.
