SEC Football Schedule, Saturday, Sept. 28: Kickoff times and TV listings

We’re in Week 5 of the 2024 college football season, and the biggest Saturday of the season so far has arrived.
All eyes are on Tuscaloosa. There will be plenty more marquee matchups this fall, but it doesn’t get much bigger than No. 4 Alabama hosting No. 2 Georgia.
Alabama-Georgia is the College GameDay feature game and the ABC Saturday Night Football showcase. It’s Nick Saban’s first GameDay in Tuscaloosa and successor Kalen DeBoer’s first gameday taking on an SEC foe. Facing a Georgia team that hasn’t lost a regular-season contest since 2020 is quite the SEC welcome for DeBoer.
Saturday’s showdown is so big that ESPN announced it is bringing in the following additional technology for the ABC/ESPN 4K/ESPN+ broadcast:
- (2) ISO cameras to lock in on every key play
- (1) reverse sideline cart that will move up and down the field following the action
- (1) Sony 4800 high-frame-rate camera that will capture super slow-motion footage from the sidelines
- Robotic cameras on each goal line
- Additional pylon cameras at the rear of the endzone to provide definitive looks of catches in the back of the endzone
- Additional replay capacity for all extra cameras
While the latest round in the Alabama-Georgia rivalry is the game of the week, it’s not the only SEC game on the Week 5 schedule. Eleven of the 16 SEC teams are in action on Saturday. Here’s the full schedule:
- Kentucky at No. 6 Ole Miss – 12:00 p.m. ET on ABC
- No. 21 Oklahoma at Auburn – 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC
- Arkansas vs. No. 24 Texas A&M (Southwest Classic game in Arlington, Texas) – 3:30 p.m. ET on ESPN
- Mississippi State at No. 1 Texas – 4:15 p.m. ET on SEC Network
- No. 2 Georgia at No. 4 Alabama – 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC
- South Alabama at No. 14 LSU – 7:45 p.m. ET on SEC Network
Enjoy a great day of football, everyone!
