SEC Network analysts reacted to the release of SEC schedules on Wednesday night. For the SEC, each team will play the same conference opponents in 2025 that they played this year, just with the home and away locations swapped.
The analysts quickly identified which teams they believe have the toughest schedules. While the opponents have been known, the order of these games wasn’t known until tonight.
Roman Harper, former NFL player and Alabama safety, picked Oklahoma’s schedule as the hardest.
“Oklahoma, you’re up baby,” said Harper. “Texas, at South Carolina, Ole Miss, at Tennessee, you get a bye week, it doesn’t matter, at Alabama, Missouri, and LSU.”
Harper added that 7 of the last 9 teams Oklahoma faces in 2025 had winning records in 2024.
Next, former NFLer and Georgia tight end Benjamin Watson chose Mississippi State.
“They’ve got a stretch of 5 games where they have to play 2 Playoff teams,” Watson explained. “If you want to extend that to 7 games, they’ve got Tennessee then they go to Texas A&M.”
Finally, Paul Finebaum went with the Florida Gators.
“Same as last year, it’s Florida. It’s really brutal,” declared Finebaum. “Florida is at LSU, at Miami, they have Texas at home, and then at Texas A&M.”
Notably, Oklahoma, Mississippi State, and Florida were all in the top 5 in strength of schedule in 2024 and should be just as high in 2025.
Oklahoma and Florida both managed to make bowl games this season, while Mississippi State endured a brutal 2-10 campaign.
