The SEC media sees Georgia as the No. 1 team in the SEC East followed by South Carolina at No. 2, according to the preseason predictions from SEC Media Days unveiled Friday. The two teams meet in Week 2 in one of the most intriguing early season conference clashes. Former South Carolina TE Tori Gurley has guaranteed a USC victory, but one current Gamecocks beat writer feels Will Muschamp’s squad has a long ways to go before it gets to UGA’s level.

“They have a punchers chance, but sitting here today, a month away [sic] from the game, I would be surprised if South Carolina won that game,” Josh Kendall of The State said on “The Paul Finebaum Show” this week.

“South Carolina isn’t on the same level as Georgia,” he continued. “They aren’t even knocking on the door. They have a long way to go.”

The game will be in Columbia, S.C., perhaps why Kendall gave USC a “punchers chance.” Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET.
