The UCF-Kirk Herbstreit saga appears to have no end in sight.

After the ESPN analyst called out the Knights for their weak schedule during last week’s edition of College GameDay, the UCF faithful forcefully responded. First, Knights athletic director Danny White penned a rebuttal to Herbstreit’s comments, then fans planned a takeover of this week’s College GameDay in Jacksonville that they ultimately had to cancel.

But some UCF fans still made the trip to College GameDay, and throughout the show one of them displayed a sign of Herbstreit wearing a hat commemorating UCF’s claimed 2017 national championship. However, a Knights fan in attendance claimed that the GameDay staff forced them to take the sign down.

The sign was visible throughout the show, so it’s unclear what exactly happened. The only sure thing is that UCF’s beef with Herbstreit won’t be over any time soon.
