While the SEC is moving forward with plans for a 2020 football season, it will be an atypical season in more ways than just the 10-game all-conference schedule. In a league where home-field advantage has a major impact, home crowds are going to be greatly reduced due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
So far, 10 SEC programs have announced capacity limits for home games, following guidelines set by state officials.
- Alabama – 20 percent
- Arkansas – 21-23 percent
- Auburn – 20 percent
- Georgia – 20-25 percent
- Mississippi State – 25 percent
- Missouri – 25 percent
- Ole Miss – 25 percent
- South Carolina – 20 percent
- Tennessee – 20 percent
- Texas A&M – 25 percent (reduced from initial announcement of 30 percent)
Not yet announced:
- Florida
- Kentucky
- LSU
- Vanderbilt
The Florida-Georgia game in Jacksonville is expected to follow the TIAA Bank Field’s 25 percent capacity for Jacksonville Jaguars home games, announced in July.
