Wake Forest QB Sam Hartman reportedly headed for NCAA transfer portal

Wake Forest quarterback Sam Hartman has entered the transfer portal and there are signs pointing to him being the next Notre Dame quarterback.
According to a morning report from Pete Thamel, Hartman was expected to transfer to the Fighting Irish in the near future. There had been much debate surrounding what Hartman would do at the conclusion of the 2022 postseason after the Gasparilla Bowl, with some anticipating he could enter the 2023 NFL Draft.

Hartman, who projects as a true dual-threat quarterback who can continue to raise his draft stock next season, finished out the year with a 63.1% completion rate, throwing for 3,701 passing yards with 38 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He also added 129 rushing yards and a single score on the ground.
To this point in his career, Hartman has completed just under 60% of his passes for 12,967 yards with 110 touchdowns and 41 interceptions.
Hartman later made his entry into the transfer portal official near Noon on Tuesday.
