We’ve got shades of Dan Orlovsky in Los Angeles!

Washington State quarterback Cameron Ward, deep on his own side of the field, had to scramble away from a Fresno State blitz and accidentally stepped out of bounds, therefore constituting a safety. Fresno State now leads the Cougars, 16-0 as the first half nears a close.

Of course, Orlovsky made this type of blunder infamous with the Detroit Lions in 2008, perfectly encapsulating one of the worst professional sports teams to ever take the field. The Lions finished that season 0-16, the first team to do so and only the 2nd NFL team to accomplish the unwanted feat all-time.

Washington State is far from 0-16, but it has been a rough season in Pullman. The Cougars are in danger of finishing the year a ho-hum 7-6 if they cannot get things together in a hurry against the Bulldogs.
