A scary situation happened during the SMU-Arkansas State game on Saturday.
Keke Burns collapsed on the field during a play and was ultimately carted off to an awaiting ambulance, Sam Blum, a reporter for the Dallas Morning News tweeted. He didn’t move until he was strapped to a stretcher.
Burns is a freshman wide receiver expected to have a bright future for the Mustangs.
This is a situation to keep an eye on and look for additional updates throughout the weekend.
Cart on the field for SMU Player Keke Burns who has not moved. Amazing how quickly it goes from a game to the game being the last thing that matters.

This Keke Burns situation appears serious. They’re bringing a cart out on the field. He hasn’t gotten up yet, and a ton of trainers are on the field surrounding him. Doctors from both teams.

There are multiple lit-up ambulances in the parking lot outside the field. It’s unclear where Keke Burns is at the moment.

Another scary situation.
Second game I’ve watched today where the board is brought out. Watch bottom left, seems harmless, but SMU player – appears to be Keke Burns – just drops. pic.twitter.com/mbM2ASkja9— Noah Coslov (@NoahCoslov) September 1, 2019
