WATCH: Kentucky has embarrassing blown coverage, Florida scores 45-yard TD
By Kevin Duffey
Published:
Kentucky had all the momentum in the second quarter against Florida, but it lost it all in one terrible play.
Down 14-7, Florida was facing a fourth and three, and there was a timeout on the field.
Following the timeout, Kentucky failed to even cover Florida WR Tyree Cleveland. So, QB Feleipe Franks took the snap and hit Cleveland for a simple pitch and catch. The result was a 45-yard TD to tie the game at 14-14.
If Kentucky is going to end the 30-year losing streak, it’s going to have to step up its game.
UK head coach Mark Stoops attributed the blown coverage to “poor communication,” and he said he didn’t have time to call a timeout before the snap.
