Alabama may be in trouble for a second consecutive week in the SEC.

After a disastrous close to the first half, Alabama took a slim 14-12 lead into the break against South Carolina on Saturday afternoon. The Gamecocks scored 3 times in the final 97 seconds of the first half to make it just a 2-point deficit.

Then, to open the third quarter, South Carolina took its first lead of the game after going on a methodical, 16-play touchdown drive that took 8:40 off the clock. The Gamecocks converted 4 third downs on the drive.

It was finished off with a short rushing touchdown by Raheim Sanders on third and goal:

That touchdown made it 19-14 in South Carolina’s favor.

Unlike last week against Vanderbilt, Alabama led for most of the first half. The Crimson Tide jumped out to a 14-0 lead, but have struggled offensively for much of the afternoon. Alabama averaged just 4.4 yards per play before the break.

Defensively, Alabama has allowed South Carolina quarterback LaNorris Sellers to have arguably his best game of the season. Through 3 quarters, Sellers has completed 17-of-20 passes for 171 yards and 1 touchdown.
