Deebo Samuel has shed the No. 1 jersey, NFL receivers are not permitted to wear single digit numbers, for the No. 19.
If you didn’t know, the NFL only allows receivers to wear the numbers 10 – 19 or 80 – 89. With those options to choose from, the rookie receiver from South Carolina has made his selection after being taken in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft, No. 36 overall in the draft, by the San Francisco 49ers.
During his time in Columbia, Samuel racked up 2,076 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns, along with 154 rushing yards and seven scores, two passing touchdowns and four return touchdowns. Considering all the roles he can play on a team, San Francisco fans would be wise to keep an eye on No. 19 all season long.
