Posting a 28-30 (17-22 Southeastern Conference) record in his five years in Columbia, Will Muschamp was relieved of his duties as South Carolina’s head coach on Sunday.

Agreeing to a contract extension in 2018 that linked him to the Gamecocks through the 2024 season, South Carolina will pay Muschamp a reported $13.2 million buyout, according to The State.

Mike Bobo, who joined Muschamp’s staff this year as the program’s offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach, will serve as the interim head coach.

Falling to Lane Kiffin’s Ole Miss Rebels 59-42 in Oxford, the Gamecocks currently stand at 2-5 overall in 2020.

South Carolina will play the Missouri Tigers (2-3) on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET on the SEC Network.
