Hayden Hurst officially announced his decision to declare for the 2018 NFL Draft Thursday.
Hurst, a junior TE for the Gamecocks, has had an illustrious career after originally joining the program as a walk-on. Since that time, Hurst has put up 97 catches, 1,240 yards, and 3 TDs.
His 97 catches are a school record for a TE, and he will likely be one of the top TEs selected in the 2018 draft. At 6-foot-5 and 250 pounds, Hurst has the size and versatility that many NFL teams look for in the position. He did participate in Senior Day festivities with the team this season.
It is not always easy to say goodbye and move on, but Hurst announced his decision with a heartfelt message to fans on Twitter.
