LOOK: South Carolina reveals throwback uniform combo for home opener vs. Charleston Southern

South Carolina is going with a throwback look for its home opener on Saturday.
The Gamecocks are set to play Charleston Southern in their first game at Williams-Brice Stadium this year, and they’ll be debuting their Under Armour School Heritage throwback uniforms. The combination features garnet helmets, black jerseys and white pants, a look that was frequent for South Carolina during the 1980s.
On Friday, the Gamecocks teased the uniforms with a hype video on Twitter:

South Carolina’s season didn’t get off to the best start as it lost to North Carolina 24-20 on the road last Saturday. But the Gamecocks should bounce back against Charleston Southern.
It will also be the first of back-to-back home games for South Carolina, which will host No. 2 Alabama the following weekend.
South Carolina and Charleston Southern are set to kick off on Saturday at noon ET on SEC Network.
