South Carolina will name offensive coordinator Mike Bobo its interim head coach after firing Will Muschamp on Sunday, the university announced Sunday night.

Muschamp was let go after a 59-42 loss to Ole Miss on Saturday. It was the third straight game the Gamecocks have allowed more than 48 points.

Bobo joined the staff this offseason after spending five years as the head coach of Colorado State. He’s been South Carolina’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach this season.

Bobo has experience in the SEC. He was an assistant at Georgia from 2001-14 before taking the Colorado State job. He also played quarterback for the Bulldogs from 1993-97.

Earlier this year, Bobo faced allegations of racism during his time at Colorado State. However, several people within college football came to his defense including Muschamp and Mark Richt.

South Carolina faces Missouri on Saturday at home.
