Shane Beamer fires back at Tennessee fan, other Vols’ recent silence

Shane Beamer used his opportunity to join the SEC Network coverage of the SEC Championship Game on Saturday to return fire to a Tennessee fan, who criticized the promotion of Beamer being with “Marty and McGee” and “SEC Nation.”

“I would rather listen to my wife’s fingernails on a chalkboard,” the fan tweeted.

Beamer responded, “Does that mean you won’t be tuning in Jeff? I was wondering where all the TN fans that lived in my Twitter mentions for the last year went … Haven’t heard from you in a couple of weeks. Welcome Back. Good luck in your bowl game.”

Beamer obviously had plenty to talk about after the South Carolina upset of Tennessee, 63-38, which the Gamecocks then followed up with a similar eye-popping win over Clemson, 31-30.
