Stephen Garcia explains why the South Carolina offensive line is getting too much blame

Stephen Garcia continues to keep a pulse on South Carolina as the former quarterback looks on from a distance. He shared his thoughts about a popular topic following the Gamecocks’ win over Georgia State on Saturday.
Was the offensive line to blame for some of the offenses struggles, especially early in the game?
“It looked from my perspective that Spencer was almost noticing the rush before it got there,” Garcia said, and noted that he’s not in the huddle or meetings on offense. “I feel like he escaped the pocket a little too early at times.”
While Georgia State ran certain schemes and blitzes to create pressure, and there was some miscommunication and missed blocks, Garcia said the offensive line did well overall.
“I just felt like I saw Spencer running a little bit quicker and taking off a little bit soon based on my opinion,” Garcia said. “Whether or not the reads weren’t there, or whether or not he misread, or he just wanted to (expletive) run, I don’t know.”
Garcia admitted that he’s guilty of that, and especially considering the environment at Williams-Brice Stadium in Rattler’s first game.
“I just don’t think the offensive line should get as much blame as I’ve been reading and hearing,” Garcia said.
