What Will Muschamp said after South Carolina’s ‘street fight’ win over Vanderbilt

South Carolina moved to 2-1 on Saturday with a 37-14 win at Vanderbilt.
Coach Will Muschamp said the Gamecocks were motivated by Vanderbilt coach Derek Mason’s comments from earlier in the week in which he said the South Carolina game would be a, “no-gloves street fight, not sanctioned fight.”
Those comments made their way to Columbia, and the Gamecocks believe they were a motivator to help them rush for 273 yards on 48 carries.
Here’s what Muschamp told reporters after the game:
Did USC take the "street fight" comments personally? Muschamp: "We rushed for 273 yards." And then nodded.

Muschamp: Five and six man rush was very effective tonight to hold Shurmur below 50 percent of his passes.

Muschamp on Dowdle's fumble and the non-replay: (Smiling) "I don't know. I'm not allowed to comment."

Muschamp on the weather: "We didn't have an indoor at Florida. I dealt with this every day."

Parker White hasn't missed a field goal (Muschamp knocks on the wood table) but the non-touchbacks will create some competition. Tommie or Woznick could enter that competition.

Muschamp on Shi Smith: "We’ll feel good about that matchup in a lot of weeks." And he's fine as well after the game.

Muschamp: We have some guys who can win on the perimeter, we orchestrated our offense well. Shi Smith had a great game, we’ll take that every time.
