Will Muschamp on former South Carolina RB David Williams: ‘I wish he was here’

In a somewhat surprising move this offseason, RB David Williams left the South Carolina Gamecocks as a graduate transfer to play for the Arkansas Razorbacks.
However, as he’s taken on a leading role in the Hogs’ backfield, the Gamecocks have struggled to move the ball on the ground.
That prompted South Carolina coach Will Muschamp to say on Sunday night that he wishes Williams was still in Columbia:
Will Muschamp on David Williams: I'm happy for him. He's a good young man … He's a first-class person. I wish he was here. #Gamecocks

Obviously, Muschamp was mostly kidding, as he had nothing but positive things to say about Williams.
Williams has 204 yards and four touchdowns for Arkansas this year, while South Carolina’s leading rusher — Ty’Son Williams — has 246 yards, but only one score.
In fact, David Williams has as many rushing touchdowns as the entire South Carolina team this year.
Muschamp may be happy that his former player has had success with his new team, but he’s definitely right — the Gamecocks would be better off with Williams still on the roster.
