Caleb Williams took over at quarterback for Oklahoma this year, replacing preseason Heisman favorite Spencer Rattler.

The Sooners recently won the Alamo Bowl over Oregon under interim coach Bob Stoops, but Stoops isn’t sticking around for 2022. Brent Venables is the new head coach, and he might need to find a new quarterback.

On Monday, Williams took to Twitter to announce he was entering the NCAA transfer portal:

Sooner fans can hold on to some hope, though. Williams said Oklahoma will definitely be in the mix to keep him in Norman.

Williams was getting serious hype as a potential 2022 Heisman winner, so where he ends up will be a huge story. Will he follow Lincoln Riley to USC? Stay at Oklahoma? Or, will he pave a new path?
