Charles Barkley reportedly reveals how much Turner pays him amid LIV Golf rumors

Charles Barkley has publicly let LIV Golf know he would need to be compensated very well to cover the controversial golf tour.
Barkley recently spoke with The New York Post’s Andrew Marchand about possibly joining LIV’s media coverage. Many readers are reacting to the revelation of Barkley’s Turner Sports salary for Inside the NBA.
Marchand, citing sources, reports that Barkley is under contract with Turner for $30 million over the next 3 years. Barkley did not correct the number when talking to Marchand:
“Between the number you just mentioned [$10 million per year] and all my commercials, for me to risk all of that, it would have to be some serious money thrown my way.”
In the interview, Barkley pushes back on some of the controversy surrounding Public Investment Fund, the sovereign wealth fund of Saudi Arabia, which finances the tour. Barkley noted that his sponsors were quick to contact him when his name was linked to the tour. He also noted Turner’s sponsors would potentially take issue with his LIV ties. Barkley would ideally like to cover both sports:
“In a perfect scenario, I would love to do both,” Barkley told The Post. “I don’t know how Turner’s sponsors are going to feel about it. I know there is going to be some blowback.”
