College GameDay is bringing another former Indiana Hoosier back to Bloomington.
ESPN’s traveling pregame show is heading to Indiana, where Lee Corso coached from 1973-82. Sitting next to Corso during the picks segment will be none other than Kyle Schwarber.
The Philadelphia Phillies slugger, an Indiana alum, was announced Thursday as the celebrity guest picker for Saturday’s show.
“Hey Hoosier fans, Kyle Schwarber here,” he said in a video message. “Can’t wait to see all you guys there on Saturday to cheer on the Hoosiers and also can’t wait to be the celebrity guest picker for College GameDay. It’s gonna be exciting. It’s gonna be fun. I can’t wait to see all you guys there, and Go Hoosiers!”

Schwarber had a standout college career before being selected by the Chicago Cubs in the 2014 MLB Draft. Two years later, Schwarber would help the Cubs win the World Series.
Schwarber played with the Cubs from 2015-20 before he was non-tendered. In the 2021 offseason, Schwarber signed a 1-year deal with the Washington Nationals. He was traded to the Boston Red Sox in July 2021.
After the 2021 season, Schwarber declined his end of a mutual option and became a free agent. He signed a 4-year $79 million deal with the Phillies. He was the NL’s 2022 home run leader and won the Silver Slugger Award that season.
For his career, Schwarber has posted a .230 average with 284 home runs and 652 RBIs.
Schwarber’s Hoosiers are undefeated this fall on the gridiron and ranked No. 13 in the AP Top 25. Indiana plays Washington on Saturday.
