Deion Sanders wastes no time on recruiting trail, flips 5-star 2025 WR away from SEC school

Deion Sanders hasn’t even been the head coach at Colorado for 24 hours and he’s already making noise on the recruiting trail.

Winston Watkins Jr., one of the top player sin the 2025 recruiting class, announced via Twitter on Sunday that he had committed to Sanders and the Buffaloes.

Watkins is a 5-10, 172-pound wide receiver prospect from Fort Myers, Florida.

He had previously made a verbal commitment to Texas A&M but now intends to head to Boulder to play for Sanders.

Watkins is rated by the 247Sports composite as a 5-star recruit and the No. 13 overall prospect in the 2025 class.

Watkins also held offers from Alabama, Georgia, Florida, and Florida State, among others.
