DJ Uiagalelei is dealing with what could be a serious hand injury, according to a report.

That news was shared by 247Sports’ Matt Zenitz on Monday. The report notes that FSU is concerned that Uiagalelei may have suffered a longterm injury in the loss to SMU.

ESPN’s Pete Thamel reports that Uiagalelei is expected to miss “the next few weeks.”

Hand injury or not, Uiagalelei seemed to be on the brink of losing his starting job. He’s been off to a dreadful start this season as Florida State’s starting quarterback. The Noles are 1-4 with him under center and he has a 4-to-6 TD-to-INT ratio.

Backup quarterback Brock Glenn replaced Uiagalelei late in FSU’s loss to SMU on Saturday. He went 0-for-4 as a passer after entering the game.

Earlier on Monday, Glenn and Uiagalelei were listed as co-starters at the top of Florida State’s depth chart. Coach Mike Norvell said QB evaluation would be a “week-to-week” thing moving forward.

Glenn is in his second year at Florida State. He was a 3-star prospect and the No. 30 quarterback in the country for the class of 2023, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

Florida State will host a red-hot Clemson team on Saturday night.
