Kansas had fewer Big 12 wins during the 2010s than pair of teams now in SEC

It wasn’t a great decade for Kansas football.

How bad was it? Well, the Jayhawks actually had fewer Big 12 wins than a pair of schools that left the conference for the SEC — following the 2011 season.

Missouri and Texas A&M each had 13 Big 12 victories in the early part of the decade before the two schools departed to join the SEC. Meanwhile, Kansas, which was in the Big 12 for the entire decade, had only six conference wins.

Kansas hasn’t had more than one Big 12 win in a season since 2008. However, the Jayhawks still went 5-7 in 2009 despite only beating one conference opponent.

Then, things got really bad in the 2010s. Kansas never won more than three games in a season this decade, including this year, when the Jayhawks went 3-9 with a 1-8 record in Big 12 games.

Perhaps the 2020s will be a better decade for Kansas. Although, it couldn’t get much worse at this point.
