Kirk Herbstreit will be in the booth for ESPN’s only live spring game coverage this year, alongside ESPN colleagues Matt Barrie, Joey Galloway and Molly McGrath.

The crew will call Southern Cal’s spring game on Saturday, April 23 at noon PT at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. It’s the only time for fans to see the new program under Lincoln Riley, as USC’s spring practices begin on March 22 and all practices are closed to the general public, the program announced.

There are plenty of storylines to discuss on the broadcast, most notably Riley’s move from Oklahoma to the Trojans, along with QB Caleb Williams.

Williams was one of the most high-profile quarterback transfers this offseason after he started 7 games last season for the Sooners and supplanted Spencer Rattler as the starter. He also passed for 1,912 yards and 21 touchdowns, and plenty of the offseason storylines this summer will be if Williams can follow in the footsteps of previous Riley quarterbacks who became Heisman Trophy winners in Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray.

Williams is the biggest name out of a slew of transfers for Riley, who is trying to rebuild the West Coast’s marquee program after it went 4-8 last season under Clay Helton and interim coach Donte Williams in its worst season in 3 decades.
