After he didn’t hear his name called in the 2017 NFL Draft, it’s fair to ask whether former Texas A&M QB Trevor Knight would have had a different experience if he had switched positions.

For example, at 6-1 and 220 pounds, Knight could have tried his hand at either tight end or fullback.

However, according to AZCardinals.com, Knight, who signed with the Arizona Cardinals after the draft, said playing at Texas A&M last year made him believe he could actually make it as a quarterback in the NFL:

“From the beginning I was confident that I could play quarterback in this league,” Knight said. “I had a pretty crazy college career. A lot of ups, a lot of downs. This last year made me feel confident I could play at a high level.”

He still has a lot of work to do to make the Cardinals’ roster, but it sounds like he’s willing to put in the work.

Behind Carson Palmer, the Cardinals don’t have much in the way of quarterback talent, so Knight is in a good spot to have success.
