Mike Elko has signed on the call for a blackout of Kyle Field on Saturday night.

The Texas A&M coach put his name on the campaign that started on social media.

No. 8 LSU and No. 14 Texas A&M are atop the SEC standings as the only two teams without a conference loss. Both teams dropped their season-openers and have recovered. Texas A&M fell at home to Notre Dame 23-13. LSU lost 27-20 to USC in Las Vegas.

The Aggies have notched conference wins over Florida, Arkansas, Mizzou and Mississippi State. The Tigers have taken care of South Carolina, Ole Miss and Arkansas.

Saturday is the 63rd meeting between Texas A&M and LSU. It became an annual series in 2012 when Texas A&M joined the conference and was placed in the SEC West. As a division game, it was scheduled in the Thanksgiving Weekend Rivalry Week slot. Under the new schedule for the division-less 16-team league, Texas A&M is going back to Texas on Thanksgiving Weekend. LSU closes out the regular season against Oklahoma.

Saturday’s showdown is expected to be a close one. Texas A&M is currently a 1.5-point home underdog at FanDuel Sportsbook. We’ll see if the blackout atmosphere lifts the Aggies to an upset victory with the help of the 12th Man.
