SEC fans react to report of Texas, Oklahoma being interested in joining league
By Keith Farner
Published:
A report from the Houston Chronicle that Texas and Oklahoma are interested in joining the SEC has shaken up college football this afternoon.
It didn’t take any time for SEC fans to weigh in on the possibility, including the notion of a division shake up, such as Alabama and Auburn moving to the SEC East.
Houston Chronicle reporter Brent Zwerneman reported that both Texas and Oklahoma have reached out to the SEC to inquiry about joining the league. Zwerneman also said that a source indicates an “announcement could come within a couple of weeks concerning the potential addition of UT and OU to the league,” which would make the SEC the first 16-team conference in college football.
Here’s a sampling of some of the reaction:
If #Texas and #Oklahoma are really interested in joining the #SEC, please have @McConaughey meet with me over coffee to discuss. That’s the only way this deal gets done.

On a scale of “I don’t care” to “I’m still mad about Mizzou and Texas A&M” … where do you stand on Texas and Oklahoma joining the SEC?

Texas and Oklahoma go to the SEC and they might as well leave the ncaa

Being in the SEC effectively makes you more money than any other conference in football. Oklahoma & Texas know they can’t get any bigger in the conference that they essentially own. That SEC badge changes that

Oklahoma would be fun in the SEC. Texas has to get their heads out of their own butts then we’ll talk https://t.co/OWJDRGpRjy
