Texas A&M brings Midnight Yell to Alabama ahead of showdown with No. 1 Crimson Tide; UA fans show up

Texas A&M is on the road this week, which means they bring a miniature version of the “yell practice” on the road with them.

The Yell Leaders held the practice outside of Chuy’s restaurant in Birmingham and there was some fun playful banter between the Aggies faithful that have made the trip and the Tide fans that were there to witness the spectacle.

AL.com had a full report and a long video that you can see at the bottom of the story.

There’s a lot to unpack in the video for a yell practice novice like myself. One guy in overalls was doing some mini pushups while three other guys in overalls were watching him. There were some lame jokes, one kind of funny story and a lot of hissing (are they Aggies or rattlesnakes?). I’m sure there’s a meaning behind it all.

But there’s also some good fan participation with yell practice and singing the fight song. All in all it seemed like harmless fun and a different version of the usual pep rally.

Texas A&M and Alabama will kick off at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
