Texas A&M defensive back Tony Grimes announces Monday afternoon that he will once more be entering the transfer portal after just 1 season in College Station.
Grimes, a former 5-star prospect in the Class of 2020, started his career at North Carolina and played well in Chapel Hill. He spent 3 seasons with the Tar Heels and accumulated 97 tackles with 19 pass deflections, 1 sack and 1 forced fumble.
Here’s his message to Texas A&M, which he posted on social media Monday. Grimes never played a snap in College Station.

Grimes is the 19th Texas A&M player to enter the portal since it opened on December 4. He’s the 4th defensive back to enter the portal, joining Jardin Gilbert (LSU), Tyreek Chappell (undecided) and Deuce Harmon (SMU).
