The Alliance of American Football officially kicked off its inaugural season on Saturday night, with San Antonio hosting San Diego.

It didn’t take long for former Texas A&M LB Shaan Washington to make his presence felt, as he had the first big hit in the new league’s history to force a turnover for the San Antonio defense.

As you can see below, Washington absolutely blasts San Diego QB Mike Bercovici, who didn’t see Washington coming:

Washington finished his Texas A&M career in 2016, compiling a total of 269 tackles and 6.5 sacks during his Aggie tenure.

If he keeps making hits like this, he’ll make a name for himself in this new football league.
