Christian Harrison, who started 10 games for Tennessee this past season, announced on Thursday that he will play next season at Cincinnati.

Harrison, the son of former NFL DB and 15-year veteran Rodney Harrison, chose Cincinnati after taking visits to Indiana, Texas A&M and Ole Miss. He will have 2 seasons of eligibility remaining after taking a redshirt in 2023.

As you can see above, Harrison has totaled 31 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, 1 sack and a pass deflection for Tennessee across his career, and most of that production came this past season. While Harrison was not a full-time starter for Tennessee, his usage rate in the Vols secondary was considerable this year.

Harrison was one of 2 defensive backs to enter the portal for Tennessee, joining Jordan Matthews (who committed to Vanderbilt last month). The Vols lost 18 players to the transfer portal and have collected commitments from Alabama WR Amari Jefferson and Arizona OG Wendell Moe Jr.

As evident by the fact that Harrison started multiple games for one of the better defensive units in the country this past season, it’s likely that he will see a lot of starting time at Cincinnati. The Bearcats finished this past season 5-7.
