NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. will be the guest picker for ESPN’s “College Gameday” at Bristol Motor Speedway Saturday, according to The Roanoke Times.
Earnhardt will appear during the show’s final segment to make his College Football picks for the week alongside the shows hosts. The broadcast will take place on location hours before Tennessee and Virginia Tech play the first College Football game at a NASCAR speedway at 8 p.m.

Earnhardt is arguably NASCAR’s most popular driver, which makes him one of the best choices possible, according to “Gameday” producer Jim Gaiero.
“That’s a home run,” Gaiero said of having Earnhardt as the picker. “The best college football game is never really near the NASCAR community, whether it’s Charlotte or wherever the race is that week. They never seem to coincide. This is the perfect storm. And unfortunately with Junior’s condition, he has the time off. … He’s a huge football fan, too, so he’s fired up about this.”
Earnhardt has been out of action due to concussion symptoms. He has 24 career wins, 90 top 10 finishes and has been the poll sitter in 10 races. His last victory came at the 2016 Toyota Care 250 in Richmond last April.
