Any time Tennessee coach Butch Jones steps in front of a microphone, there’s a chance he’s going to say something truly baffling.
On Monday, he once again delivered a head-scratcher, describing the importance of the “leadership reps” the Vols got over the bye week.
Most coaches would just say “mental rep,” but Jones isn’t most coaches, instead choosing to say yet another meme-worthy quote:
Butch: “You don’t have to get a physical rep to get a rep. You can get a leadership rep.”#LeadershipRep

Naturally, fans and media members had a field day with the quote, flocking to Twitter to respond to the embattled coach’s most recent baffling statement:
How many Leadership Reps does it take to become a Champion of Life?

At this point it’s like Butch Jones is doing an impersonation of Butch Jones — like a Saturday Night Live skit of Butch Jones. https://t.co/pXiMROWgq3

Would be fascinating to get inside his mind when he comes up with these. https://t.co/XyLzvXxWqS

Sadly, if the Vols don’t start performing better on the field, Jones will likely lose his job. That would be a shame for those who enjoy waiting to see what crazy thing the coach will say next.
