In 43 total meetings, Florida holds a 24-19 advantage and has won nine consecutive games, including a 31-17 win at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium last season. The Gators’ streak began with a 16-7 win at home in 2005.
This year’s matchup will mark the first time since 2001 that Tennessee will not open its SEC schedule against Florida. The Vols will face Georgia in Athens on Saturday, before hosting the Gators in Knoxville the following weekend.
Tennessee currently hold a 2-1 record, with dominant wins against Utah State and Arkansas State to open the season. The Vols are coming off a 34-10 loss to No. 4 Oklahoma in Week 3.
The Gators are also 2-1 with wins against Eastern Michigan and Kentucky. Florida suffered its first loss this past weekend in a 42-21 blowout by No. 2 Alabama in Tuscaloosa.
