Josh Heupel got to walk out to a full Neyland Stadium for non-football reasons this past Sunday when award-winning country music artist Morgan Wallen held a concert there.

It was the day after Heupel led the Tennessee Volunteers to a win at his alma mater, Oklahoma, and the coach of the Vols got to walk out onto the field at Neyland Stadium with Wallen and a fully-in-uniform Peyton Manning before the show.

Talking to reporters this week, Heupel talked about that experience and joked about how cool it was seeing Manning, the 1997 SEC Player of the Year, back in his No. 16 uniform.

“You can’t beat seeing Peyton in his uniform, you know what I mean?” Heupel said. “Tried to get him to come back for one more. He said he’s done.”

Tennessee certainly doesn’t need an upgrade at quarterback this year. Nico Iamleava is completing 69.3 percent of his passes this season and has thrown for 892 yards and 7 touchdowns for the 4-0 Vols. Iamleava leads an offensive unit that is putting up 54 points per game this season, which is 2nd in the nation.

Iamaleava and Bru McCoy walked out to the field with Wallen, Manning and Heupel too.

Tennessee is off this week, but travels to Arkansas on Oct. 5 as the Vols continue their pursuit of their first national title since 1998.
