Tennessee does not usually delve from the classics.
The Vols did so with Smokey Grey uniforms in 2016, but have for the most part resorted to their orange and white combinations with White helmets and an orange Power T. Things have changed this season.
The Vols have worn their Smokey Grey uniforms against LSU, all black uniforms against Kentucky and now will don new Orange helmets against South Carolina. Look good, feel good, play good.
The debut..

Josh Heupel explained Thursday why he gives the orange helmets the thumbs up. Ultimately, when his players are happy he is happy.
#Vols coach Josh Heupel: I love our classic uniforms. Some of the best in the country. But players these days like to put a new twist on things, and I get excited any time they’re excited. The guys loved being part of that process.

The Vols have 2 games remaining in the regular season before their fate is decided at the hands of the College Football Playoff committee. It’ll either be the 4-team field or a New Year’s Six bowl if Tennessee can get past the likes of South Carolina and Vanderbilt.
