You can’t blame a father for having pride in his son, but it’s never a good idea to poke a team like Alabama.
On Saturday afternoon, Tennessee QB Jarrett Guarantano’s dad did just that, tweeting that his son wouldn’t be afraid of the Crimson Tide defense during their Week 8 matchup.
As you can see, James Guarantano calls Alabama “Goliath” and promises that his son will be up for the challenge:
Goliath, you get a chance to meet Jarrett Guarantano today, I promise you that he WONT be afraid of you.

That’s a bold statement to make, as it will only be Guarantano’s second career start, and the first one didn’t go so well, as the Vols failed to score a touchdown against South Carolina.
Things won’t get any easier this week, as the No. 1 Crimson Tide now have a bit of extra motivation to stop the Tennessee quarterback.
Check out Saturday’s action when the game kicks off at 2:30 p.m. Central time on CBS.
