Princeton Fant, Tennessee TE, reacts to being a Swiss Army Knife for the Vols’ offense

Princeton Fant has embraced his role as a versatile players in Tennessee’s offense in 2022.
Fant, who is a tight end, has played several positions in the offense during the season. He was a factor in the running game, receiving game, and passing game. He scored touchdowns as a running back, receiver, and as a quarterback in throwing situations.

Fant has been able to make a difference at multiple positions outside of his primary position as a tight end. When asked at a press conference about his versatility, Fant accepted his expansive role in Tennessee’s offense.
“It’s a blessing to be able to play all of those positions. God blessed me with the ability to play all of those positions,” Fant said. “Just being versatile, man, it’s just fun. You can run the ball, throw the ball, catch the ball, like you said. Whatever I can do to help my team win that’s the main thing.”
In 2022, Fant has recorded 3 receiving touchdowns and 5 rushing touchdowns. He registered 222 receiving yards and 17 rushing yards during the season. In Tennessee’s 56-0 win over Vanderbilt, Fant scored a 1-yard rushing touchdown in the regular season finale.
In the Orange Bowl, Fant will try to put his versatility on display against Clemson on Friday at 8 p.m. ET.
