Report: Tennessee finds new offensive coordinator after lengthy search

The Tennessee Volunteers have been on the hunt for a new offensive coordinator for a few weeks now, and the search has dragged on much like last year’s search for a head coach.
However, it appears the search is over, and it seems the Vols will be taking a key assistant away from an SEC East rival.
Per 247Sports, Georgia OC Jim Chaney is expected to be named Tennessee’s new offensive coordinator soon:
Sources close to the situation told GoVols247 on Tuesday night that Georgia’s Jim Chaney is expected to be named the new offensive coordinator for the Vols and barring unforeseen circumstances will join Jeremy Pruitt’s staff.
Chaney was Tennessee’s offensive coordinator from 2009 to 2012 and even served as the team’s interim head coach in 2012.
Longtime Tennessee insider Chris Low confirmed the report and said the announcement is expected to happen Wednesday.
Jim Chaney is returning to @Vol_Football as offensive coordinator, ESPN confirms. GoVols247 first reported. Chaney is expected to be formally announced Wednesday. Vols ponying up a lot of money to get Chaney, who just finished his third season as @FootballUGA's OC.
