The Tennessee Volunteers received some bad news during Tuesday’s practice, losing a receiver for the entire season.

After practice, coach Butch Jones confirmed to reporters that true freshman WR Jacquez Jones would be out for the year.

According to Coach Jones, the freshman wide out suffered a knee injury:

A 3-star signee in the class of 2017, Jones was unlikely to see much action this fall anyway, but you never want to see a young player lose a chance to practice and develop his skills.

According to 247Sports, Jones was the No. 134 receiver in the class of 2017 and the No. 131 overall recruit from the state of Florida.

Now, he’ll likely redshirt during the 2017 season and try to come back at full strength next year.
