Tennessee has made a big-time signing day addition to its 2025 recruiting class.
Isaiah Campbell took his college decision down to the wire. On Wednesday, the beginning of the Early Signing Period, he announced his commitment to play for Josh Heupel’s program. Tennessee announced him as a Volunteer signee soon after.

Out of Southern Durham (North Carolina) High School, Campbell lists his measurements as 6-4 and 275 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, Campbell is rated 4-stars, the No. 2 player in the state of North Carolina, No. 5 defensive lineman and No. 37 prospect overall in the Class of 2025.
Campbell was a highly sought-after prospect. He picked up scholarship offers from 36 programs, including Alabama, Auburn, Duke, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Miami, NC State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Penn State, South Carolina, Texas A&M and USC.
For much of Campbell’s recruitment, it was a 3-team race between Tennessee, Clemson and North Carolina, his 3 finalists heading into Wednesday’s commitment announcement.
Dabo Swinney’s Clemson program secured the initial commitment on May 31. In September, however, he back off his pledge to the Tigers. He would take visits to Tennessee (Oct. 19) and North Carolina (Nov. 19). It was after his visit to Chapel Hill that UNC fired head coach Mack Brown.
With Campbell on board, Tennessee’s class is up to No. 10 nationally on the Composite. Fans can get a preview of what he brings to Rocky Top in the Hudl highlight reel below:
