Uros Plavsic and 3 other Tennessee Volunteers had their names on the 2023 NBA Draft early entry candidate list released on Tuesday. Plavsic was joined by Josiah-Jordan James, Julian Phillips, and Olivier Nkamhoua.
Plavsic is the new name. Previous reports indicated that Nkamhoua had entered his name into the transfer portal but the NBA Draft remains his No. 1 priority. Tennessee coach Rick Barnes said last week James and Phillips were also going through the pre-draft process while maintaining their eligibility.
The 7-foot senior from Serbia appeared in 34 of Tennessee’s 36 games and drew 20 starts, including all 3 of the Vols’ NCAA Tournament games. Plavsic averaged 4.9 points and 3.4 rebounds in 13.4 minutes a game.
He scored in double figures 7 times on the year, including a season-high 19 points in a 63-56 loss to Kentucky on Jan. 14.
In 4 seasons with the Tennessee program, Plavsic had made 101 appearances and 45 starts. He started 21 times during the 2021-22 season and averaged 4.2 points and 4.0 rebounds.
Pre-draft festivities begin in mid-May with the G League Elite Camp in Chicago, which runs from May 13-14. The NBA Draft Combine starts on May 15 in Chicago and runs through the 21st. The early entry withdrawal deadline for underclassmen that wish to maintain their collegiate eligibility is 10 days later.
