WATCH: Jordan Bone incredibly emotional following Tennessee’s devastating loss to Loyola-Chicago
The finality of the NCAA Tournament can be tough to deal with in the face of defeat. That’s something Tennessee knows all too well right now.
After fighting its way back from a late second-half deficit, the Vols held a one-point advantage in the closing seconds of the game. Of course, the lead wasn’t enough for Tennessee as Loyola guard Clayton Custer made a basket with five seconds in the game to take a 63-62 lead.
The Vols had one final chance to win with a Jordan Bone buzzer beater that hit the rim but failed to go in. Following the game, the Tennessee native was devasted by the result and the fact that the season is over for the SEC’s regular-season co-champion.
“It just hurts because we worked so hard and we weren’t supposed to just finish here. It’s all over, man,” Bone said in the video below.
