Tennessee fans were understandably excited to see true freshman OL Trey Smith in action on Monday night against Georgia Tech.
Though the Vols’ first possession ended in a punt, Smith certainly didn’t disappoint, delivering a crushing blow on a run play.
Yes, it was only against a smaller defensive back, but these are the kinds of blocks Smith should be delivering for at least the next three years for Tennessee:

According to the 247Sports composite, Smith was the No. 4 tackle in the class of 2017 and the No. 1 overall recruit from the state of Tennessee.
Though he’ll probably move out to a tackle spot before too long, he’s doing just fine at right guard for now — just ask that Georgia Tech defender.
